" 1 Corinthians 12:26-27 " We are members of a greater body " We cannot survive by ourselves " We are different from each other but must be united with one another to serve the Lord. "God wants us to dwell together in unity for there the Lord will command His Blessing." Psalms 133:1 Principles of "One Anothering" > Love one another. Prayer and hope for the best. (Romans 12:10, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7) > Honor one another above ourselves. Rejoice in the success of others. Honor and do not envy, avoid the superstar mentality. We are all equal but have different functions (Romans 12:10, 1 Corinthians 12:1-6) > Accept one another. Since we are members of the Body of Christ, accept one another without legalism and prejudice but with an open mind. Accept others because we re all sinners. Do not rebuke out of prejudice. (Romans 15:7) > Instruct one another. Rebuke out of love. We are competent to instruct one another. Do not let your brother fall to sin or humiliation. (Romans 15:14) > Greet one another. with sincerity. Express brotherly love genuinely. (Romans 16:16) > Serve one another in love. We should reflect God's love. Jesus came to serve and not to be served. Let your love be evident. (Galatians 5:13) > Carry each other's burdens. We should not rejoice if a brother is in sin. We need to nurture him back. Disciplinary actions should restore the sinner back. Be willing to confront when someone is in sin. We may all fall into sin so do not boast. (Galatians 6:2) > Bear one another in love. Some of us have difficulty having opposing attitude, so we must develop patience. Understand one another who are different. Pray for them to change for the good. (Colossians 3:13) > Submit to one another. Submit to other who are in authority. Do not be afraid to be corrected (Ephesians 5:21) o Speak the truth in love o Hold each other accountable o Do not be afraid of correction > Encourage one another. We are cheerful and we can uplift each other's spirit not just by words but God's Word. Encourage with effort, time and words. (1 Thessalonians 5:11) > Prayer for one another. We need one another. We should be blessing to others. (James 5:16) We are all servants serving one Master. |
